NVIDIA RTX/Quadro Graphics Driver 461.09 for Windows 10 64-bit
The driver branch name will also transition from "Optimal Driver for Enterprise" to "Production Branch." All the same enterprise attributes of the driver branch will remain. The new branch name will now allow driver types to be consistently referenced across other enterprise GPU products as well, such as Data Center GPUs.
NVIDIA RTX Production Branch Driver
Release 460 is a 'Production Branch’ (PB) release. PB drivers are designed and tested to provide long-term stability and availability, making these drivers ideal for enterprise customers and other users who require application and hardware certification from ISVs and OEMs respectively.
PB drivers are a superset of the NVIDIA Studio Drivers and provides all the benefits of the Studio Driver of the same version, in addition to NVIDIA RTX-specific enhancements and testing.
What’s New in Version 460 U2
- Added security updates for driver components
- Added support for new NVIDIA A40 GPU
- Added new display features: Multiplane Overlay--allows for the GPU hardware to composite the final image planes instead of the operating system's Desktop Windows Manager to reduce system latency. (Requires NVIDIA Quadro RTX and later GPUs; SDR currently supported, HDR support to follow)
New Advanced Display features:
- Dedicated Display(s) capability to support needs for full-screen displays, eliminating OS pop-up notifications, increased performance for large number of displays, and low-latency present to displays
- High Dynamic Range (HDR) support for tiled displays
Fixed Issues in Version 460 U2:
- [V-Ray renderer]: The renderer deadlocks within a cuMemcpyHtoDAsync call on a 32-core processor when pushing several small copy commands to the stream.
- Shaders (especially geometry shaders) are not working correctly.
- [SolidAngle][Turing GPUs]: Failures are reported when running tests.
- [Redshift3d]: The application fails to create a second CUDA context on a system with 512GB of system RAM.
Open Issues in Version 460 U2:
- [Alchemist]: The application crashes when either changing the display resolution or switching to another display with a different resolution. To workaround, avoid changing the resolution, or disconnecting from or connecting to an external display with the application opened.
This release supports the following APIs:
- Open Computing Language (OpenCL software) 1.2 for NVIDIA Kepler and later GPUs
- OpenGL 4.6
- Vulkan 1.2
- DirectX 11
- DirectX 12
- NVIDIA CUDA 11.2
- This driver installs nView Desktop Manager version 201.18.

About Graphics Drivers:
While installing the graphics driver allows the system to properly recognize the chipset and the card manufacturer, updating the video driver can bring about various changes.
It can improve the overall graphics experience and performance in either games or various engineering software applications, include support for newly developed technologies, add compatibility with newer GPU chipsets, or resolve different problems that might have been encountered.
When it comes to applying this release, the installation steps should be a breeze, as each manufacturer tries to make them as easy as possible so that each user can update the GPU on their own and with minimum risks (however, check to see if this download supports your graphics chipset).
Therefore, get the package (extract it if necessary), run the setup, follow the on-screen instructions for a complete and successful installation, and make sure you reboot the system so that the changes take effect.
That being said, download the driver, apply it on your system, and enjoy your newly updated graphics card. Moreover, check with our website as often as possible in order to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.
Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
