Intel PROSet/Network Adapter Driver 26.4 for Windows 8.1 64-bit
What's New in This Release:
- Microsoft Windows support for Intel Ethernet Network Adapter E810-2C-Q2
- Base drivers for Intel Ethernet 800 Series devices now support firmware
logging
- Support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8.4. Drivers are no longer
tested on RHEL 8.3.
- Support for FreeBSD 13.0. Drivers are no longer tested on FreeBSD 11.4.
- Removed the FreeBSD em driver. Maintenance for this driver will be continued by the community.
- End of support for devices based on Intel Ethernet Controller X540
- End of support for Microsoft Windows 10, Version 1803
- End of support for Microsoft Windows 10, Version 1903
Software Features:
- Microsoft Windows support for Intel Ethernet Network Adapter E810-2C-Q2.
- Base drivers for Intel Ethernet 800 Series devices now support firmware logging.
- Support for FreeBSD 13.0.
- Support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8.4.
Intel Ethernet 800 Series Fixed Issues:
- General: If single VLAN traffic is active on a PF interface and a CORER or GLOBR reset is triggered manually, PF traffic will resume after the reset whereas VLAN traffic may not resume as expected. For a workaround, issue the ethtool command: "ethtool -K PF_devname rx-vlan-filter off" followed by "ethtool -K PF_devname rx-vlan-filter on" and VLAN traffic will resume.
- Linux Driver: Enabling switchdev on any port may break reporting random MAC address on the Physical Function (PF) on all ports.
- Linux Driver: When changing the RSS queue value in VM while Double VLAN is configured, rx_vlano [rx-vlanoffload] might stop incrementing correctly.
- Windows Driver: Not all OID error is aggregated to OID_GEN_RCV_ERROR.
- Windows Driver: When a SR-IOV enabled Virtual Switch is assigned to 8 VMs and bi-directional traffic is ran continuously, it is possible that SR-IOV degradation might occur.
- Linux RDMA Driver: Loading of Linux RDMA Driver may fail on RHEL8.3.
- Linux RDMA Driver: Enabling vSAN service from GUI doesn't turn on RoCE on RDMA ESXi Driver.
- NVM Update Tool: Incorrect NVM version is displayed after execution of Inventory switch via NVM Update Tool.
- NVM Firmware: When inverted topology is used which is not a common scenario, link is prevented from going up on all ports.
- NVM Firmware: The NVM version was incorrectly detected in iLO management log (IML) after PLDM FW Update
- NVM Manageability: RDE failed to recognize Intel Ethernet Controller CQDA1 Adapter
- NVM Manageability: The error code returned by PassComponentTable caused iLO to block PLDM FW updates
- NVM Manageability: RDE property serial number on the network adapters were in incorrect order
- NVM Manageability: PCIe Serial Number in PCIeDevice is incorrectly represented
- Application Device Queues (ADQ): TC VF filters do not correctly handle ADQ filter queues, causing ADQ SR-IOV application traffic to be directed to hardware queue(s) in the default traffic class (TC0). Workaround: Use ice driver version 1.6.4 or later.
Intel Ethernet 700 Series Fixed Issues:
- General: NCSI version advertised during MCTP discovery has been changed.
- General: Some odata.id properties are wrong.
- General: On Dell servers, an iDRAC link down alert on Intel Ethernet Controller X710 devices with 19.5.12 firmware occurs. This issue can been seen on critical servers. As a result, these servers have to respond to every alert, including at night time.
- Linux driver: When two VF interfaces are in balance-tlb bonding mode, the ICMP traffic might be interrupted for a few sequences.
- Intel PROSet: It is not possible to modify a VLAN using IntelNetCmdlets. The Set-IntelNetVLAN command does not display an error.

About Network Adapter Drivers:
When connected, the operating system usually installs a generic driver that helps the computer to recognize the newly attached device.
However, proper software must be applied if you want to make use of all features that the network adapter has available. This task also allows computers to properly recognize all device characteristics such as manufacturer, chipset, technology, and others.
Updating the adapter's drivers and utilities version might improve overall performance and stability, increase transfer speeds, fix different compatibility problems and several network-related errors, as well as bring various other changes.
To install this release, simply get the package, extract it if necessary, run the setup, and follow the instructions displayed on-screen. When done, don't forget to perform a system restart and reconnect the network adapter to make sure that all changes take effect properly.
Without further ado, if you intend to apply this version, click the download button and install the package. Moreover, check with our website as often as possible so that you don't miss a single new release.
It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.
Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
